United States law enforcement authorities are providing local police with assistance in determining the circumstances which led to the death of a Jamaican in the United States.
She has been identified as Sydia Stephens a former employee of Jamaica Customs.
Stephens was employed as a Secretary however her contract was not renewed.
Her last day at Jamaica Customs was October 2.
US authorities claim doctors discovered drugs which she had ingested.
It's understood that US police identified her by a Jamaica Customs ID which was in her possession.
It is unclear when Stephens left Jamaica for the US.
