Jamaican arrested for shooting in Florida

A Jamaican man is in police custody in Florida following a shooting on Tuesday.

Bay County Sheriff's Office arrested him on charges related to an incident at an apartment.

It's reported that, about noon, Bay County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about shots being fired at the apartment complex.

Deputies later encountered a man who stated that he was involved in an altercation with another man, identified as 30 year old Shane Reid, a resident of  the complex.

It was reported that, during the altercation, Reid armed himself with a knife and fled to a nearby apartment. He reportedly emerged later with a gun and fired a shot in the direction of the other man.

The Jamaican fled but was apprehended about a block away by investigators.

The firearm was recovered from the grounds of the complex where it is believed Reid dumped it.  He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and reckless discharge of  a firearm.
