Jamaican man accused of overstaying time in Guyana - granted bail

A 33-year-old Jamaican has been granted bail after he was accused of  overstaying his time in Guyana. 

Marlon Brown told a court that although he was born in Jamaica his father is Guyanese.
   
He added that he returned to Guyana in 2012 to spend time with him then left for Jamaica and later returned.
   
The police alleged that between May 4, 2012 and Monday of  this week the Jamaican overstayed his time in Georgetown.
   
According to the charge, the defendant was granted six months stay in May 2012.
 
Brown, a mechanic, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
   
He was offered bail in the sum of  60 thousand dollars and the matter adjourned until October 7.
