Lawyers representing a fugitive wanted for sex crimes in Canada have filed legal action against Justice Minister Delroy Chuck.
The matter is to be heard in the Supreme Court next week.
The Supreme Court is to begin hearing submissions on Thursday from attorneys for George Flowers, the Jamaican-born Canadian fugitive, who has filed contempt of court action against the justice minister.
Attorney Don Foote, who represents Mr. Flowers, claimed the justice minister breached the law when he signed the extradition warrant last year while his client was still challenging the legality of his extradition before the courts.
Mr. Foote described the extradition warrant as flawed and accused the minister of breaching his client's constitutional rights.
Mr. Flowers is wanted by the Canadian government on multiple counts of sexual assault.
Canadian prosecutors say Mr. Flowers, who is HIV positive, had unprotected sex with more than a dozen women he met at bars.
He was ordered extradited by Jamaican courts in 2014.
Meanwhile, the Judicial Review Court is to hand down a ruling next Thursday on a motion brought by Mr. Flowers.
He had asked the Judicial Review Court to quash the decision of the local courts to order his extradition.
The Appeal Court rejected his case last month.
