Classes were suspended at two schools in St James on Monday, due to a lack of water.
Hundreds of students from Irwin Primary and Irwin High, were sent home after an assessment by school administrators. The schools have been without water since Friday.
Principal of Irwin High, Aldin Bellinfante, explained that the decision was made to suspend classes, as the 1,300 students and 100 members of staff could not be accommodated.
He explained that water tanks can only supply the school with one day's supply of water.
However classes will resume at Irwin High on Tuesday as water has now been restored to the area.
