Male student held in connection with shooting of 14 year old female

A 15 year old student is now in police custody in connection with the shooting of a 14 year old female student on Wednesday.

The police report that the injured teenager was on her way home when the incident occurred.

The other student – a male, is expected to be charged.

Head of  the St. Catherine South Police Division Senior Superintendent Noel Christie says other charges are expected to be laid against individuals who filed a false report to the police regarding the incident.

The injured student has been listed in serious but stable condition.
