Medical Doctor arrested by Anti-Corruption branch

Well known medical practitioner Dr. Jephthah Ford has been arrested and charged by the Anti-Corruption Branch.

He was arrested and charged late Wednesday with Attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice.

Ford who is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, was charged following a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

His arrest and charge is in relation to a multi-million dollar case which was thrown out in the Corporate Area Criminal Court recently.

It's understood that two Surinamese nationals were held earlier this month with a little over US$500 thousand by the police in Half Way Tree.

The men were charged with possession of criminal property and conspiracy to possess criminal property.

However, the case was dismissed by Senior Resident Magistrate, Judith Pusey citing lack of evidence.
