The government is spending $20 million to upgrade the Morant Bay Market in St. Thomas.
This follows complaints about the state of the facility.
Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie said sanitary facilities and the roof will be repaired.
He made the announcement at a town hall meeting in Morant Bay, St. Thomas on Thursday night.
