PNP appoints team to implement recommendations of Appraisal Committee

The People's National Party (PNP) has appointed a special team to implement the recommendations of the Appraisal Committee that examined the reasons for its defeat in the February 25 general election.

The ten member team will be co-chaired by Aloun Assamba, former High Commissioner to the UK, and Ralph Thomas, former Ambassador to China and to the United States.

The team will also include representatives from the Women's Movement, the PNP Youth Organisation and the National Workers Union (NWU).

The announcement was made on Sunday by PNP President Portia Simpson Miller at the Party's National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

She charged the members of the special team, who will begin working immediately, to ensure that the recommendations are implemented on a timely basis.

The team will report to the PNP President and the executive committee of the party on a monthly basis and to all meetings of the NEC.
