Police High Command completes review of JCF conduct in 2010 West Kingston operation

The Police High Command says it has completed an administrative review of the Jamaica Constabulary Force's operation and conduct during the May 2010 operation in West Kingston.

The High Command says the review was conducted between February and last month by a Committee chaired by a Deputy Commissioner and four members of civil society.

The final report was submitted to Police Commissioner George Quallo on July 7.

The High Command says the Commissioner is in the process of sharing the document with the various oversight bodies of the JCF.

The administrative review was one of the recommendations coming out of the report of the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry.

More than 70 people were killed.

In a statement on Friday, the High Command said the review committee was required to examine the JCF's Operational Plan to determine if the Command structure was appropriate during the operation.

The review committee also examined whether there was misconduct by the police during the operation to capture Tivoli Gardens leader, Christopher "Dudus" Coke.
