Police seize 205 illegal guns so far this year in Jamaica

With nearly three months gone in the year, the police are reporting that more than 200 illegal firearms have been seized in Jamaica.
 
A statement on Monday night from the Jamaica Constabulary Force Corporate Communications Unit said 205 firearms were seized, along with 2,139 rounds of  ammunition.
   
There were more than 140 arrests in relation to illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.  
   
The police say, since March 19 they have seized 18 firearms, including high-powered weapons, and 124 assorted rounds of  ammunition.
   
Fourteen people were arrested.
