There is a warning out about pesticide-laced plantains which were stolen from a farm in Acadia, St. Thomas.
The police say care should be exercised when purchasing the fruit as the stolen plantains were sprayed with at least three pesticides on Tuesday.
According to the police, some of the side effects of the pesticides are: dizziness, nausea and headache, and in serious cases, they can lead to the formation of tumours.
Persons who have purchased large portions of agricultural produce, especially plantains, are asked to contact the JCF’s Praedial Larceny Unit at 927-1731-50, if they suspect that the goods may have been stolen.
