The retrofitting of the Bogue power plant in St. James is expected to be completed by August. Dr. Vin Lawrence, Chairman of the Electricity Sector Enterprise Team (ESET), made the disclosure at a press briefing Tuesday morning.
The plant is being retrofitted to allow it to use Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for electricity generation. Dr. Lawrence indicated that the estimated cost of the project is US$22.7 million.
The 120 megawatt Bogue power plant retrofitting project was launched in early October last year.
