Ruling on Caricel injunction bid expected on January 24

It will be known later this month if an injunction will be granted blocking the revocation or suspension of the telecommunications licence issued to Symbiote Investments. The Supreme Court will hand down its decision on January 24.
   
The gag order remains in effect until the ruling.
   
Symbiote, which trades as Caricel, is trying to prevent the Jamaican Government from revoking its licence which was issued last year.
   
The licence was granted last year, despite disapproval from the Contractor General's Office and it has come under additional scrutiny from the US Embassy which has since revoked the visas of some officials of Caricel.
