Tense stand-off between police and suspects in New Kingston

Rohan Powell reporting

The New Kingston Police were involved in an intensive operation around noon on Friday, apprehending several robbery suspects.

Superintendent Christopher Murdock, Head of the New Kingston Police, told RJR's Rohan Powell that his team was at that time still seeking to apprehend two suspects, one of whom was alleged to have stolen $100,000 from his parents. The money had not been recovered, however, he said.

There was still a tense stand-off between the police and several young men who occupy a gully in the busy business district.
