The murder figure in the western parish of St James continues to rise with the murder of three persons late Thursday.
The police say shortly after 11:30, gunmen kicked open the door to a couple’s house on Hampton Road in Spring Mount in the parish and shot them several times.
Both were taken to hospital where the husband, who is identified as Desmond Samuels, succumbed to his injures. His wife was admitted in serious condition.
Meanwhile, shortly after 5pm on Thursday residents in another section of the parish known as Content, stumbled on the bodies of two men. They are still unidentified
The police say the upper sections of the bodies were burnt.
St James has reported the highest murder figure in the Area One police division since the start of the year.
On Wednesday five persons were killed in separate incidents across the parish.
