Three persons were shot, one fatally at an annual Independence Day celebration in Cambridge Square, St. James early Friday.
According to reports, explosions were heard about 3:45am while a crowd was still gathered at the town's Cambridge Festival (CAMFEST).In the melee, three persons were shot.
When the police arrived, the injured persons were taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where one person was pronounced dead. is identity is yet to be released.
The other victims remain in hospital in critical condition.
The St James Criminal Investigation Branch is yet to determine a motive for the shooting.
Camfest is put on annually by Member of Parliament Derrick Kellier.
