Two vehicle crash in Portmore claims 3 more lives including a policeman

The carnage on the nation's road continues with the death of three more people in a two vehicle crash early Thursday morning. The crash occurred on Dyke Road in Portmore, St. Catherine, shortly before 2:00 a.m.

One of the victims is a policeman attached to the Kingston Central Police division. Two other people are in critical condition in the Spanish Town hospital.

Patrick Callum, Assistant Superintendent from the St. Catherine Fire Division, says preliminary investigation suggests that it was a head-on collision. The Portmore and Spanish Town Fire departments responded to the call for help. They had to cut three bodies from the mangled wrecks of a Toyota Yaris and a Honda CRV.

The policeman's service pistol was secured.
