Vybz Kartel murder trial - chief prosecution witness testifies

As the Vybz Kartel murder trial continued in court on Tuesday, Lamar Chow, the chief prosecution witness also known Wee or Pop took the stand on Tuesday - day five of the trial.

Chow who told the court that he knew Vybz Kartel and the 4 other accused attempted to answer the questions being put forward by the prosecution.


He testified that two guns were missing and he and the deceased - Clive “Lizard” Williams were being held responsible for the missing guns.

The witness continued that on August 14, Williams was on his celllur phone speaking to accused Kahira Jones pleading with Jones to beg for him.

The prosecution asked him if he knew who Lizard wanted Jones to beg, to which the witness responded “Kartel”.

Chow said that 2 days later Shawn Campbell otherwise known as Shawn Storm took himself and Willims to Kartel's Swallowfield Avenue location, where they were met by Kartel, Kahira Jones and Andre St.John who he identified as Mad Suss.


He continued that Kartel invited them inside where he asked them to tell him what happened in relation to the missing guns. He said he tried to explain and Williams promising to buy them back. He said at this point point Kahira Jones held Williams from behind.

Chow testified that's when he ran into a room and tried to lock himself in, but he was chased by Kartel and Shawn Storm - both of whom managed to open the door and took him out.


The witness continued that Kartel then placed his hand around his neck, assured him that everything alright and took him bck into the living room where he saw Williams lying on his back ...lifeless.

Chow said he made a mad escape -“flying over" the gate which was about 8 feet high. He said he dashed up road and when he looked behind he saw Kartel chasing him.
He said Kartel, who was hopping on one leg, later explained that he (Kartel) was bitten by his dog and he wanted to go to the hospital.


Chow said he accompanied Kartel to hospital where his injuries were dressed. Chow will return to court on Wednesday.
