A woman accused of stealing motor vehicles from her employer is to face the Corporate Area Criminal Court next week. She is 55 year old Hauva Davis, a car sales administrator of Cedar Grove in Portmore, St. Catherine.

Ms. Davis is charged with six counts of  larceny of  motor vehiclesvalued at six million dollars. She is on $300,000.00 bail and is to return to court on September 24. She is also being investigated for the disappearance of 80 other motor vehicles valued at more than $80 million.

According to a statement from the police Ms. Davis fled the island after an audit uncovered the irregularities and was arrested by the Fraud Squad on Saturday, upon her return on a flight at Sangster International Airport.

According to police reports, from 2005 to 2014, Ms. Davis, was employed to a car dealership. She was responsible for logging all motor vehicles taken to the company’s warehouse.

It's alleged that she sold a number of cars and failed to either account for the sales in the company’s records or for the proceeds.

Ms. Davis allegedly advertised some of the cars privately and negotiated their sale to various individuals, including car dealers.

The matter was reported to the Fraud Squad in July.
