Four die in Guyana after drinking substance believed to be liquid cocaine

Four members of a Guyanese family died afer they drank what is believed to be liquid cocaine. A fifth family member is battling for life in hospital.

The police report that a US based relative of the family members who died, was asked to take back a bottle labeled multi-vitamin tonic, to someone in the United States. She reportedly decided not to take the bottle, telling her relatives instead that she would purchase a similar item in the United States for the intended recipient.

It is reported that the family members with whom the bottle was left, decided to consume the contents, believing it to be safe, only for it to turn out to be a lethal substance, now believed to be liquid cocaine.
