Gavin Nicholas, Trinidad & Tobago's Attorney General, has asserted that the government has made it difficult for embattled former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner to flee the country.
Pointing out that Mr Warner was ordered to surrender his passport and report to police twice a week, the Attorney General said this was necessary as anyone with the level of resources that Mr Warner has would be considered a flight risk.
Warner is scheduled to appear in court on July 9 for an extradition hearing on US charges, including racketeering, wire fraud and money-laundering.
He is one of several international football officials facing charges as part of the US investigation.
