Captain Miller inspires Scorpions to victory over Red Force

The Jamaica Scorpions registered a vital 87 run win over the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in their 8th round regional 4-day Pro League match at Queen's Park Oval on Sunday. Resuming the third day on 172-7 in their second innings, the Scorpions were dismissed for 201.

Fabian Allen top-scored with 60 while Devon Thomas assisted with 38. Rayad Emrit 3-30 and Jamaican Sheldon Cottrell 3-52, ended pick of the Red Force bowlers.

Set 229 to win, the Red Force were skittled out for 141 with Marlon Richards getting 47 as captain Nikita Miller claimed 5-45. Leg-spinner Damion Jacobs also chipped in with 3-55.

The victory snapped a two game losing streak for the Scorpions who secured 16.6 points from the contest to go to 95.2 and into second temporarily behind Guyana Jaguars who lead with 103.2.

The Jaguars will continue their 8th round match against the Barbados Pride on Monday. They are 119-3 in their second innings, 111 runs away from making the Pride bat again.
