CAS delays decision on case involving Semenya

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has delayed arriving at its decision on a case involving South African Olympian Caster Semenya, Athletics South Africa  and the IAAF. CAS had originally indicated that it would arrive at a decision by March 26, six months prior to the World Championships in Doha.

In a release on Thursday, CAS revealed that since the hearing held in Sswitzerland, from February 18-22, the parties have filed additional submissions and material and agreed to postpone the issuance of the CAS award until the end of April. CAS says no specific date has been set as yet. The implementation of the regulations by the IAAF is currently suspended, pending the outcome of the CAS procedures.
