JAAA to decide on level of assistance for Carter's appeal to CAS

Voice of JAAA president Dr Warren Blake

President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) Dr Warren Blake says his executive will see how they can assist with Nesta Carter's legal cost as he appeals to sport's highest court, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

“We have given moral support and we are going to have a meeting of the executive and the executive will then decide just how much financial support we can afford,” said the JAAA boss. The JAAA is set to meet on Wednesday, February 8.

Meanwhile, president of the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) Mike Fennell confirmed by phone on Monday that Carter, Asafa Powell, Michael Frater and Usain Bolt have already returned their relay medals from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Only the Florida-based Dwight Thomas is yet to turn over his silverware to the JOA.
