The Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) is set to appoint an interim Executive Director in the coming days, according to JADCO’s Chairman Alexander Williams. Williams on Thursday confirmed with RJR Sports that former Commissioner of Corrections, June Spence-Jarrett, is being appointed for a four week period, while the board moves to finalize interviews with six candidates.
Spence-Jarrett's appointment comes in the aftermath of JADCO sacking Carey Brown, who served as JADCO’s Executive Director between 2013 and last October. Spence-Jarrett is a veteran public servant, was the first female to be in charge of the department of correctional services. Williams doesn't foresee any issues with Spence-Jarrett's temporary appointment which takes effect on Monday, March 5.
