Jamaica / Barbados no play again; Jaguars and Leewards ahead in other matches

By Patrick R. Anderson

For the second consecutive day there was no play in the 2nd round WICB PCL match between the Jamaica Franchise and the Barbados Pride.

The convergence of two weather systems over Barbados has dumped a lot of water over the island, leaving the second round match without any play after two days. If the weather and ground conditions allow at the Windward Sports Club in St. Philip, it could see play start half an hour early at 8:30am Jamaica time on Sunday.

Meanwhile, at the Guyana National Stadium, the Guyana Jaguars, resuming on 168-3, went on to make 291 all out on day-2, as Narsingh Deonarine, 79 not out overnight, went on to score 139. Shivnarine Chanderpaul made 62, and together the pair added 153 for the 4th wicket. Kenroy Peters took 5-36 while Mervin Matthews claimed 3-29.

The Windward Volcanoes  closed on 63-2, trailing by 228 runs. The Jaguars  earned 2 bonus points and the Volcanoes 1 bonus point.

And at Warner Park in St. Kitts, The Leewards Franchise crafted an overall lead of 89 runs and four bonus points.

Resuming on 133-6, The Leewards made 202 all out, thanks to a lower order  contribution of 34 not out by Jeremiah Louis against Imran Khan 4-83, while there were two wickets each for Marlon Richards and Rayad Emritt.

The Trinidad & Tobago Red Force crumbled to 130 all out in reply, with only Yannic Cariah 43 not out getting among the runs.

The Leewards reached 17-0 in their second innings.
