Jamaica ends campaign on winning note at regional U15 cricket tournament

Jamaica's Under 15 team ended their campaign at the West Indies Super50 tournament with a crushing 141 run win over the Leeward Islands at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Saturday. The young Jamaicans were spurred to victory by opener Adrian Weir who made a magnificent 161 from 123 balls. The Vere Technical student struck 13 fours and nine sixes in his knock and shared in a 189 run opening stand with Kevaundre Virgo who made 45 as Jamaica posted 250-2 from 39 overs in a game reduced by rain.

In response the Leeward Islands were bundled out for 109 in 29.2 overs. Odel Samuels was the chief destroyer bagging 4-30 while Reon Edwards claimed 2-18 as the team recorded their second straight win of the tournament while losing the first three.
