Jamaica finish bottom of regional Under-17 cricket

For the second year running, Jamaica's Under-17 cricketers finished at the foot of the regional youth table after their match against the Windward Islands was called off due to rain, at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago. The Jamaicans who are without a win in five matches, were 186-7 after 48 overs when rain stopped play. Captain Kirk McKenzie top-scored with 73 while Romaine Jones was 40 not out. The Jamaicans finished with just 1.3 points from their five contested games.

Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago retained the title after finishing top on 19.8 points following their abandoned game against the Leeward Islands.

Barbados finished second on the table with 16 points after restricting Guyana to 149 before their game was called off. Windward Islands third, Leewards fourth and Guyana fifth, are the other teams that finished above the Jamaicans.
