JCA to receive part of outstanding payments from CWI by month end

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Jerome Forster

The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) along with all other territorial boards are expected to get a share of the more than US $9.2 million owed to them by Cricket West Indies (CWI) by the end of this month. A combination of factors have resulted in the delay to these payments.

Based on Radio Jamaica Sports checks, it’s understood that the monies are being paid in two tranches. It’s understood that half of the outstanding amount has been signed off on with the rest to be paid by August.

A high level CWI source also indicated that the delay payment is down to the fact that the revenues from the home series against India in August 2023 were not calculated before the September 30 cutoff date for CWI.

The tardiness in preparing audited financials for territorial boards also forced late payment of outstanding balances according to the source.
