Liverpool by odd goal in 5...remain on course for EPL title

They'll never stand alone.

Playing infront of a raucus home crowd at Anfield, Liverpool F.C. remained on course to lifting its first Barclay's English Premier League title, and its first league title since 1990, by clipping challengers Manchester City 3-2 in a  pulsating encounter on Sunday.

Liverpool was off and running in the opening 26 minutes, as Jamaican born Raheem Sterling and Martin Skrtel sent the home team and league leaders 2-nil up.

But City never panicked and roared back in the second half, as David Silva scored in the 57th minute and Liverpool's defender Glen Johnson scored an own goal 5 minutes later to level the scores.

But 12 minutes from time, Brazilian Philippe Coutinho pounced on a rare error from City's defender Vincent Kompany to curl home the winner. And after such an intense battle, City had nothing left and bowed 2-3 to be 7-points behind Liverpool in 3rd place.

In another key fixture, Demba Ba was at it again, netting Chelsea's only goal to beat Swansea City 1-0 to remain 2 points behind Liverpool. Chelsea and Liverpool have a huge fixture which should go a far way to help decide the 2013-2014 EPl Champions.

Liverpool leads with 77 points, followed by Chelsea 75,  Manchester City 70, Everton 66, Arsenal 64 and Tottenham Hotspurs 60. Spurs found themselvs trailing 3-0 against West Bromich Albion on Saturday, but rallied to earn a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
