Mansingh calls for more heart screening for Jamaican athletes

Sports Medicine physician Dr Akshai Mansingh believes more young Jamaican athletes should receive heart screenings to prevent possible tragedy but acknowledges there are challenges. National 5000 metres record holder Kemoy Campbell collapsed during the men's 5000 metres at the Millrose Games in New York and a defibrillator was used before he was rushed to hospital.

In 2016, St George’s College Manning Cup captain Dominic James died of heart failure after collapsing in a match at Stadium East.
