Martin to act as interim JABA president

RJR Sports understands that Calvin Martin will take over the role of interim president of the Jamaica Basketball Association (JABA) with the impending departure of incumbent Dr Mark Broomfield. Dr Broomfield announced last week that he would be stepping down from the presidency after two and half years in office. He will officially demit office this Saturday, September 23.

Martin, a long-time basketball administrator, is the current first vice president of the association. Martin had previously led an interim steering committee when the former president Ajani Williams had completed his tenure in 2013 and the association was without a president or official executive committee for two years.
