McLeod sets national indoor record

Olympic sprint hurdles champion Omar McLeod sped to a national indoor record to win the men's 200 metres at a meet in Arkansas on Friday.

McLeod stopped the clock at 20.48 seconds, beating the old mark of 20.52 seconds set in 2005 by Omar Brown, the husband of Veronica Campbell-Brown. The 22-year-old McLeod also raced to a personal best over 60 metres, clocking 6.61 seconds.

The performance continued an impressive indoor season for McLeod who clocked 7.46 seconds to win the 60 metre hurdles at the Millrose Games last weekend.

Meanwhile, 2015 world 100 metre hurdles champion Danielle Williams won over the 60-metre hurdles at the Clemson Last Chance Invitational. Williams won in 8.09 seconds to finish ahead of fellow Jamaica Ann-Marie Duffus who was second in 8.17 seconds.
