Sakima 'Mr Smooth' Mullings became the first two time winner of the Wray and Nephew Contender Boxing series when he scored a knock-out victory over Canadian Phil Rose in Wednesday night’s final at the Mico College University.
Showing great speed, power and guile, Mullings, the pre-series favourite, attacked Rose with body punches throughout before scoring the knock out at 1 minute and 8 seconds into the 6th round. Mullings secured his second hold on the title after also winning in 2014. He also collected the winner’s prize of $2 million.
