Over 150 student athletes cleared to represent their new schools at 'Champs' 2017

156 student athletes have been cleared to represent their new schools for the upcoming ISSA  Grace Kennedy Boy's and Girl's Athletics Championships.

The student athletes were cleared through ISSA clearing house system which seeks to document all transfers from one ISSA school to another.

ISSA’s Competition's Officer George Forbes says they had some issues with the system and had to give an extension to schools to sort things out. But he says there is no need for schools to be alarmed regarding the system.

“People don’t like changes and people don’t like order. People have been blaming ISSA about not doing anything about students moving from school A to school B so all the clearing house is saying let’s do the thing properly whereby the releasing school sends a letter to the accepting school. We then go through the Ministry of Education, three letters come to us then we look at it and decide that the person is legitimately transferred,” said Forbes.
