Portmore moves up to fifth in RSPL

Defending champions Portmore United have moved up to fifth in the Red Stripe Premier League after blanking five time winners Arnett Gardens 2-0 at the Spanish Town Prison Oval on Sunday. National players Ricardo Morris and Chavany Willis scored the goals for the seven time winners.

But the biggest victory on the day came at the Stadium East Field where Cavalier thumped the struggling Molynes United 4-0. Chevonne Marsh scored a double while Bryan English and Dwayne Atkinson were the other scorers.

Tivoli Gardens have now extended their unbeaten run to four games as they got the better of Humble Lion 3-0 at the Effortville Community Centre. Strikes by Stephen Barnett, Davion Garrison and Trayvon Reid ensured Tivoli moved up to 8th in the table.

In the other games on the day, Vere United held Waterhouse to a 0-0 draw, while it was the same scoreline between UWI FC and Dunbeholden at the UWI Bowl.

Mount Pleasant Football Academy could go three points clear at the top of the league when they play away to Harbour View in the Monday night game starting  at 8:00 pm.
