A solid all-round performance from Jamaica's Rovman Powell and a debut century from Kyle Hope carried the West Indies ‘A’ to a huge 109 run win over Sri Lanka ‘A’ in the second one dayer in Kurunegala on Thursday.
The Caribbean side has now taken an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three match series. The Windies 'A' first piled up 347-9 after electing to bat with Hope cracking his maiden first class century, 107 off 110 balls including 10 fours and 4 sixes.
Hope who had made 88 in the first one dayer, also shared in a 111 run opening stand with another Jamaican Chadwick Walton who made 70.
The Barbadian added a further 109 run 3rd wicket partnership with Asad Fuddadin who made 57. Powell blasted 52 off 22 balls including 2 fours and 6 sixes.
Shehan Jayasuriya took 4-54. Powell returned to grab 3-44 to help dismiss Sri Lanka 'A' for 238 off 42.1 overs in reply.
Jayasuriya made 119 as Ronsford Beaton also took 2-41 and Kyle Mayers. The third one dayer will be played on Sunday in Colombo.
