Reggae Girlz Ambassador at odds with the JFF once again

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Jordan Forte

Reggae Girlz Ambassador Cedella Marley has launched a stinging attack on the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) as the national women's team gets ready for another international assignment. The latest development came with the JFF having trouble to find the necessary funding to stage a camp for the Reggae Girlz ahead of the Pan Am Games in Peru.

But in a quick move,,Reggae Girlz Ambassador Cedella Marley was able to generate the U.S. $42,000 funding which came with conditions. However, the JFF is having none of it as Marley was told by the Director of Marketing, Sophia Harris-Lau that all funds must paid over to the federation.

Marley hit back, saying over the years money has been sent to the JFF through the Alacran Foundation but they have not received an audited report as to how it has been spent.

But speaking on Hitz 92 FM’s Sports Grill on Wednesday, JFF president Michael Ricketts said  Marley is not allowed to pay per diem as per FIFA regulations. Ricketts is now ready to extend the olive branch to Marley as they look to continue their working relationship. The Reggae Girlz are drawn in Group "A" of the Pan Am Games against Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama.
