Rodman facing possible manslaughter charge after motor cycle accident

Jamaican Olympic hopeful, cyclist Marloe Rodman, is facing the possibility of being charged with manslaughter by the St Catherine Police Traffic Department. Rodman  who is alleged to have been performing stunts on a Honda CBR 600 motorcycle along Gordon Boulevard in St Catherine on Sunday morning, lost control of the bike, resulting in the death of Anthony Gordon.

Head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Taffic Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Calvin Allen told RJR Sports that based on investigations, Rodman, the 2014 Caribbean cycling champion, could be charged in the coming days.

“The process of law has to be adhered to and as such we are looking at the breaches that have been committed; the aspect of a life law, the charge of manslaughter is being looked at as also other breachesa of the Road Traffic Act. We are hoping that the injuries to Mr Roadman are not life-threatening and that he will be able to survive his injuries,” said SSP Allen.

Following the accident, both Rodman and Gordon were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where Gordon succumbed to his injuries.
