Russell the latest West Indian to be injured in BBL

Injury was added to insult as West Indies and Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell, who has been struggling with poor form, sustained an injury in the Australian Big Bash League (BBL) on Wednesday.

Russell suffered the left hamstring injury while chasing a ball during the Sydney Thunders’ match against the Melbourne Stars.

The Thunder has since admitted they made an "administration error" in playing Russell after tests revealed that he may not have been 100 percent fit for the game. He becomes the fourth West indian to pick-up an injury in this season's BBL.

Barbadian Deandra Dottin suffered a cheek bone fracture in a collision with a team-mate last week before Dwayne Bravo had to do surgery for a hamstring he pulled in a game, just days after Dottin's injury.

Leg-spinner Samuel Badree is also on the list after suffering a leg muscle injury in a game against the Sydney Sixers on Tuesday.
