She's A Maneater helps DaCosta to cut Nunes' lead in trainer's championship

Commentary by Track Announcer Brian Rickman

Following her mishap in the Diamond Mile two weeks ago, reigning horse of the year She's A Maneater returned to winning ways at Caymanas Park on Saturday. Running as the 3-5 favourite, the 4 year old bay filly squeezed out a narrow come-from-behind victory in the 3 year old and up Graded Stakes contest over 5-and-a-half furlongs.

She's A Maneater who was ridden by customary jockey Omar Walker, won by a neck in a time of 1 minute, 5-and-one-fifth of a second to close out a double for reigning champion trainer Wayne DaCosta on the 11-race card. The double enabled DaCosta to cut Anthony "Baba" Nunes' lead in the trainer's championship by $809,000 with Nunes who had one winner on the day, now leading by $114,000 in stakes earnings with three racedays to go on the 2018 calendar.

Dick Cardenas had one win to move his tally to 84, 9 behind leading rider Anthony Thomas who went winless. Outgoing champion Omar Walker had a double.
