STGC start life after Dominic James

Scores of football fans and well-wishers came out to Winchester Park on Friday afternoon to see the first game involving St George’s College since the passing of their captain Dominic James. STGC defeated Greater Portmore High 4-1.

In other matches, Exelsior defeated Tivoli Gardens 4-1 to remain second behind St Georges in their group, Waterford were also 4-1 winners over Mona High, Vauxhall and Eltham drew 1-1 and Holy Trinity scored a 1-0 win over Clan Carthy. The competition continues on Saturday.

Meanwhile, defending champions St Elizabeth Technical and arch rivals Munro College will clash in the St Elizabeth derby, the feature encounter in Saturday's action from the ISSA FLOW DaCosta Cup.

STETHS and Lacovia are sitting atop the Zone ‘E’ standings on 9 points each with STETHS ahead on goal difference. Munro are lying third on 8 points. Hits 92 FM will have live commentary on this game starting with a pre-game show at 3:20 pm.

In other games on Saturday, St James High will entertain Cornwall College in the Zone ‘A’  top-of-the-table clash at Jarrett Park; Cedric Titus play at home to Muschett; Manchester High host Mile Gully in the top-of-the-table Zone ‘F’ encounter; Clarendon College host Knox; Steer Town entertain Marcus Garvey in the top billing in Zone ‘I’, Ewarton and Dinthill Technical clash in the feature Zone ‘K’ match-up; the top two in Zone ‘I’ come face to face when Fair Prospect meet Port Antonio while Paul Bogle will be at home to Morant Bay High. All games will start at 3:30 pm.
