Top Grade 1 horses to square off in Gold Cup

Some of the island's best sprinters and middle distance runners will line-up on October 13 for the 46th running of the Cal's Tomato Ketchup Gold Cup for Grade 1 horses over 7 furlongs at Caymanas Park. Reigning Horse of the Year She's A Maneater is expected to headline the field which should also include stable companion Perfect Neighbour; Caribbean Sprint champion Chace The Great, Prime Minister's Stakes winner Will In Charge, Viceroy Trophy winner Houdini's Magic and possibly St Leger winner Marquesas.

However, DaCosta will not be entering one of his most seasoned campaigners and former Horse of the Year Seeking My Dream who sustained an injury recently and will be out of action for the rest of the year. Seeking My Dream is set to undergo surgery. Nine additional races will be offered on Gold Cup day.

Title sponsor Cal's will be putting up $1 million towards the purse for the Gold Cup and will also provide the winning owner in each race with 10 bags of horse feed.
