West Indians lose latest practice game in Bangladesh

It was a less than impressive start for Jamaican Rovman Powell as West Indies ODI captain, as the Caribbean men went down by 51 runs under the Duckworth Lewis method to a Bangladesh Cricket Board X1 in their warm-up game in Savar on Thursday. Electing to bat, the West Indians made 331-8 from their 50 overs. Shai Hope 81, Roston Chase 65 not out, Fabian Allen 48 and Kieran Powell 43, were the top scorers.

In reply, Tamim Iqbal on his return from a lenghthy injury lay-off top-scored with 107 while Soumya Sarkar was unbeaten on 103, as the hosts reached 314-6 after 41 overs. Roston Chase had 2-57 from 10 overs while Devendra Bishoo picked up 2-81 from his 10. The first of three One Day International games against Bangladesh bowls off at 2:00 am Sunday Jamaica time.
