West Indians on receiving end in IPL

The Mumbai Indians, team of West Indians Evin Lewis and Kieron Pollard went down by 7 wickets to the Delhi Daredevils in their Indian Premier League contest on Saturday. Lewis made an enterprising 48 to support a top score of 53 from Suryakumar Yadav as the Mumbai Indians posted 194-7 batting first. Ishan Kishan also made 44 as Pollard was dismissed for a duck  

Jason Roy with 91 not out and Rishabh Pant with 47 then led the way for the Daredevils in their chase as they got to their target off the final delivery of the match. And the Sunrisers Hyderabad, team of West Indies T20 captain Carlos Brathwaite had a 5 wicket win over the Kolkata Knight Riders, team of West Indians Andre Russell and Sunil Narine.

Batting first, the Knight Riders were restricted to 138-8 with Chris Lynn making a top score of 49 and Denesh Karthik scoring 29 as Russell and Narine only made 9 apiece. Bhuveneshwar Kumar was the pick of the Sunrisers bowlers taking 3-26.

Narine grabbed 2 wickets in the Sunrisers’ chase but couldn’t prevent them from romping to victory at 139-5 off 19 overs. Russell went wicketless from three overs with the ball while conceding 39 runs.
