West Indies in charge entering Monday's 4th day of 1st test vs Bangladesh

The West Indies will enter Monday's scheduled 4th day of the opening test against Bangladesh at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, in complete command of the match.

With two days remaining, the Windies hold a first innings lead of 302 runs, having declared their first innings closed on 484-7 on Sunday's third day, then dismissing Bangladesh for 182.

West indies resumed on 407-3, with the task of speeding up the run rate, and they added 77 runs in quick time for the loss of four wickets, as overnight double centurion Kraigg Brathwaite moved from 205 to 212, and veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul held his ground to be 85 not out. Jermaine Blackwood made 10 as did compatriot Jerome Taylor, while skipper Denesh Ramdin disappointed with 5.

But Sulieman Benn with an inspired spell of left arm spin bowling, claimed 5-39 off 24.4 overs including 8-maidens to undermine the tourists, who were 41-2 at lunch; 105-4 at tea; before crumbling for 182, losing their last six wickets for 77 runs. Jamaica's middle order batsman Jermaine Blackwood showed his worth with the ball, capturing 2-14 off six overs, while fast bowlers Jerome Taylor took 1-46, Kemar Roach 1-31 and Shannon Gabriel 1-50. Captain Mushfiqur Rahim was unbeaten on 48, while Mominal Haque made 51 and Shamsur Rahman 35.

Scores entering Monday's scheduled 4th day: West Indies 484-7 declared, Bangladesh 182.
