Wiilams-Mills to retire at the end of 2017 season

Voice of national 400m runner Novlene Williams-Mills

Veteran Jamaican quarter miler Novlene Williams-Mills says 2017 will be her final season on the track. 34 year old Williams-Mills, the 2015 World Championship mile relay gold medallist is eyeing the World Championships in London this summer as her last major championship.

“This is my farewell season; I’ve been in this for a long time and I think I’ve done my fair share and represented my country well so sometimes you have to hang up your spikes and move on the next chapter of your life and I think I’ve reached that point where I need to do that now,” said Williams-Mills.

Williams-Mills also won an individual bronze medal at the 2007 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
