XLCR takes early lead in 4-day Insports Seprod Primary Schools Championship

Excelsior have taken an early lead after day one of the 4-day Insports Seprod Primary Schools' Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

After the lone scheduled final on Wednesday, Excelsior leads with 9 points and are  followed by Holy Family on 7, St. Benedicts on 6 and Clan Carthy on 5 as the top 3 schools.

Toni Ann Watson of Excelsior won the girls' open cricket ball throw with a distance of  48.97 metres. She won ahead of  Alyah McNaught of Holy Family, 43.89 metres, with third place going to Sasha Harris of St. Benedicts 42.67.

Three finals are scheduled for Thursday's (April 30) 2nd day. They are the cricket ball throw open for boys, the girls high jump open and the boys long jump open.
