Yohan Blake in Carib All-Stars X1 for benefit match

Five Jamaicans including Olympic and World Championship gold medallist Yohan Blake have been selected in a Caribbean All-Stars X1 to play Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in a charity game for hurricane relief on October 14.

2011 world champion Blake will line up for the All-Stars at the Queen’s Park Oval alongside countrymen Jerome Taylor, Chadwick Walton, Andre McCarthy and Rovman Powell. Jamaica Tallawahs star Kesrick Williams is also included. 

Former West Indies captain Darren Sammy will lead the Caribbean side. The Caribbean All-Stars are completed by Fidel Edwards, Dwayne Smith, Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher, Ashley Nurse, Suliemann Benn and Shane Shillingford.

Meanwhile, the Kieron Pollard-led Trinidad team will see the likes of inform West Indies limited overs batsman Evin Lewis, spinner Sunil Narine, the Bravo brothers, Dwayne and Darren, wicketkeeper Dinesh Ramdin and fast bowler Shannon Gabriel.

West Indies vice-captain Jason Mohammed and rising wicketkeeper batsman Nicholas Pooran will also feature for the Red Force.

The match is being played in aid of the countries affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria that ravaged sections of the region recently.
